Whirlpool Top Loader
Model WTW5057LW1
Home Depot
Basic Tips
- Load clothes loosely and don't overfill — let items move freely for a good wash and balanced spin.
- Use HE (high-efficiency) detergent and don't over-pour; too much soap causes residue and extra rinses.
- Leave the lid open between uses so the tub can dry out and stay fresh.

Settings, cycle details, and troubleshooting are in the owner's manual linked above.
Troubleshooting
- Won't start — make sure the lid is closed, the unit is plugged in, and the breaker isn't tripped.
- Won't fill or fills slowly — confirm both hot and cold water valves are on and the inlet hoses aren't kinked (these get shut off when closing the cabin).
- Loud / walks during spin — the load is unbalanced; pause, redistribute the clothes, and make sure the washer is level.
- Won't drain or spin — redistribute the load and check the drain hose isn't kinked.
- Leaks — check the fill-hose connections at the back.
Leaving the Cabin
Shut off the washer water
When closing up, turn off the water to the washing machine (hot and cold) and drain the hoses. See the Closing the Cabin checklist.
