Washer
Loading
- Sort laundry by color (lights and darks)
- Do not overload — fill to about 3/4 capacity
- Add HE (high efficiency) detergent to the dispenser drawer
Detergent
Only use HE detergent. Regular detergent creates too many suds and can damage the machine. The detergent is in the laundry closet above the machines.
Cycle Settings
- Normal: everyday clothes
- Delicates: lightweight or fragile fabrics
- Heavy Duty: towels, jeans, heavily soiled items
- Quick Wash: lightly worn items, 30-minute cycle
After Washing
Always remove clothes promptly to prevent mildew. Leave the washer door cracked open between loads to let the drum dry.
Dryer
Operation
- Clean the lint trap before every load
- Load wet clothes loosely — don't pack tightly
- Select appropriate heat setting:
- High: towels and sheets
- Medium: everyday clothes
- Low: delicates and synthetics
- Press Start
Lint Trap
Always clean the lint trap before each load. A clogged lint trap is a fire hazard and reduces drying efficiency.
Dryer Sheets
Dryer sheets are in the cabinet above the machines. Use one per load.
