Water System Startup
Close all faucets
Walk through the cabin and close every faucet that was left open for winterization.
Open the main water valve
Turn the main shut-off valve open (handle parallel to pipe).
Turn on the well pump
Flip the "Well Pump" breaker to ON. Listen for the pump to engage.
Check for leaks
Slowly walk through the cabin while the system pressurizes. Check under every sink, around toilets, and at the water heater for leaks.
Flush the lines
Open each faucet one at a time and let it run for 1–2 minutes to flush the antifreeze. Start with the faucet closest to the water supply.
Flush toilets
Flush each toilet 2–3 times until the water runs clear.
Turn on the water heater
Open the supply valve to the water heater, then switch it to ON. Wait 30–45 minutes for hot water.
