Kitchen Deep Clean

Thorough kitchen cleaning procedure for end-of-visit

Updated 2026-03-01kitchen, cleaning, deep clean, departure

Overview

Perform a full kitchen deep clean before leaving the cabin. This ensures the kitchen is ready for the next visitors.

Cleaning Checklist

Counter and Surface Cleaning

Clear all surfaces

Remove everything from countertops. Put away food, appliances, and utensils.

Spray and wipe

Use the all-purpose cleaner (under the sink) to spray all countertops. Wipe with a clean cloth in circular motions.

Backsplash

Wipe the backsplash behind the sink and stove. Grease tends to splatter here.

Dry surfaces

Dry all surfaces with a clean towel to prevent water spots.

Refrigerator

  1. Remove all food you brought — do not leave perishables
  2. Check expiration dates on any existing condiments
  3. Wipe shelves and drawers with a damp cloth
  4. Leave the refrigerator on and set to normal temperature

Communal condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.) can stay. Discard anything expired or nearly empty.

Stovetop

  1. Remove grates and soak in hot soapy water
  2. Wipe the stovetop surface with degreaser spray
  3. Scrub stubborn spots with a non-scratch sponge
  4. Rinse and dry grates, replace on stovetop
